LiftSim is a program developed by mrmattandmrchay. It is written in QBasic, and could be called the MS-DOS version of Skyscraper. The program accurately simulates 4 elevators in a 4 to 35 story building. The elevators are customizable and the game also simulates passengers which ride the elevators and move about the building. The Mac OS version of the game is basically a port of the console versions (high res sprites, front facing enemies, extra weapons, etc.). However, unlike the DOS version, it was designed for modding; custom levels (referred to as Scenarios) were readily selectable from the episode menu. There are two game modes, story mode and explorer mode. In story mode, you set out to perform the elevator ritual, but you can also visit other floors before you begin. In Explorer mode, there is no danger, you can just go around the building, exploring the large and eerily abandoned offices.
